LEADERSHIP

Our commitment
We’re dedicated to empowering the hockey community through access, leadership, and service—offering scholarships, gear, and support where it’s needed most.
Patricia Fox-McDonald - President & Co-Founder

Patricia “Patti” Fox-McDonald serves as President and Co-Founder of the Greg McDonald Foundation, where she leads the organization’s mission of creating opportunities for young athletes through scholarships, equipment assistance, leadership development, and community service.
Her passion for philanthropy began in 2010 when she founded the Linda M. Fox Scholarship Fund in honor of her mother. Now in its 16th year, the scholarship continues to recognize deserving students at Our Lady Star of the Sea School in Atlantic City, New Jersey, reflecting Patti’s longstanding commitment to investing in young people.
The inspiration for the Greg McDonald Foundation came during Greg McDonald’s Celebration of Life at Lincoln Financial Field in 2023. As Patti looked across the crowd, she saw hundreds of former players, teammates, coaches, friends, and families wearing hockey jerseys in tribute to the lives Greg had impacted through the game. It was a powerful reminder that his influence extended far beyond the rink.
In that moment, Patti realized Greg’s legacy wasn’t something to simply remember—it was something to continue. That vision became the Greg McDonald Foundation, an organization dedicated to carrying forward Greg’s values of leadership, humility, service, perseverance, and community by creating opportunities for the next generation of young athletes.
Today, Patti oversees the Foundation’s strategic vision, fundraising, scholarship programs, community partnerships, and volunteer initiatives, ensuring that Greg’s example continues to inspire others for years to come.
Carrie Casey - Vice President
Carrie served as Co-Team Manager in the Princeton Junior Tigers Hockey Association and as a Committee Chair for the Greg McDonald Memorial Pond Hockey Tournament held every December since 2023. Her love for youth sports, her family and her insatiable desire to keep the leadership legacy of her dear friend at the forefront drive her forward.

A former Division I Athlete at Lafayette College, Carrie has always had a deep love and appreciation for youth sports. She has enjoyed giving back over the years supporting student-athletes both at Lafayette College and in her local community. A former Youth Lacrosse Coach and parent of two young athletes, she spends a considerable amount of time in the stands or on the sidelines of sporting events. In fact, the youth sports sidelines are where Carrie and Greg first connected. Initially, it was over the joy of watching their young sons, but over the years their connection became much more rooted in Leadership. Often exchanging thoughts on leadership philosophies, their sideline and fire pit chats quickly turned to the latest leadership read. Those philosophies were applied on the field, on the ice and in the office for both Carrie and Greg. Carrie currently serves as Vice President, Development Operations - Biopharma Strategic Partnerships at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Madeline McDonald - Legacy Leader & Youth Engagement

Currently a rising Sophomore at Council Rock North High School, Madeline McDonald is a bright, ambitious 15-year-old honors student maintaining a 4.2 GPA. Beyond the classroom, she is a varsity athlete in Flag Football and Field Hockey and was selected as a Rock Ambassador for her school—a leadership honor recognizing trusted student role models chosen to guide and support incoming freshmen. Madeline was also one of only two freshmen selected, league-wide, to the Suburban One League's All-League Flag Football Team as a wide receiver.
With a tough mindset and strong work ethic, Madeline is determined to follow in the footsteps of her Dad. With a passion for numbers and sports, she dreams of becoming an accountant for a professional sports team. Her love for math and problem-solving makes accounting a natural fit.
Madeline is always eager to take on new challenges and make a positive impact in her community. Her role as Legacy Leader, will keep Greg’s memory alive through service, leadership, and her big heart. She will gain valuable experience and skills that will serve her well in the years to come. Greg would be insanely proud knowing she is carrying forward a meaningful mission while also paving her own path.

Maeve Casey - Volunteer Coordinator
Maeve is a rising Sophomore at Council Rock North High School where she enjoys studying science and social studies — and was selected to be a Rock Ambassador. She has been an active athlete in her local community as well as at the high school where she is a varsity member of the Field Hockey team. And hello, you should hear her sing and play guitar!
In 2024, she was awarded the Prestigious Brian Kiefer Sportsmanship Award by the Upper Makefield Youth Baseball/Softball league for her great team spirit and sportsmanship. It was many moments on the sidelines or after games where Maeve and Greg bonded over the team’s successes, what they could work on and where was the nearest place to eat.
Through Greg McDonald Foundation service opportunities Maeve has emerged as leader amongst her peers and someone admired by the younger volunteers. From teaching others how to run a snack bar or selling pizza in the crowded stands, Maeve brings an inclusive energy to all situations. Her commitment to ensure everyone knows what a good person Greg was and how much he is missed propels her forward in leading volunteer opportunities.
